The Roles
Not sure which role fits your character concept? Here is a quick summary of what each role does in Cyberpunk Red.
| Role | Special Ability | What They Do |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | Combat Sense | Professional killers, bodyguards and mercenaries. The best fighters in Night City. Combat Sense gives them bonuses to initiative and perception in dangerous situations. |
| Netrunner | Interface | Hackers and NET specialists. They jack into the local NET to breach systems, disable cyberware and attack enemies digitally. Interface lets them perform NET Actions against targets within range. |
| Fixer | Operator | Brokers, dealers and the people who know people. Fixers make things happen. Operator lets them find contacts, score gear and run crews more effectively than anyone else. |
| Tech | Maker | Engineers and inventors. Techs build, modify and repair weapons, armor, cyberware and vehicles. Maker lets them craft equipment that others simply cannot. |
| Medtech | Medicine | Doctors, ripperdocs and field surgeons. Medtechs keep people alive when everything else is trying to kill them. Medicine gives them advanced healing and cyberware installation capabilities. |
| Rockerboy | Charismatic Impact | Musicians, artists and rebels using their platform as a weapon. Charismatic Impact lets them sway crowds, inspire allies and demoralize enemies through sheer force of presence. |
| Nomad | Moto | Clan warriors and Badlands survivors. Nomads are the best drivers and pilots in the game and their clan connections give them a network of support across the Badlands. Moto enhances vehicle performance. |
| Executive | Teamwork | Corporate operators and power players. Executives command resources, people and influence. Teamwork lets them direct NPCs and allies with bonuses that no other role can match. |
| Lawman | Backup | Cops, detectives and law enforcement. Lawmen can call in backup — NCPD units, air support or tactical teams — when situations escalate beyond what one person can handle. |
| Media | Credibility | Journalists and content creators using information as a weapon. Credibility lets them expose corruption, protect sources and leverage their public platform in ways that make even megacorps nervous. |
"Everyone in Night City has a story. Most of them end badly. But they're worth telling."
