Two employees of Biotechnica's Logistics division were taken into custody early Tuesday following a joint NCPD–corporate security operation targeting unauthorized data exfiltration from internal research servers. Sources close to the investigation say the pair attempted to transfer proprietary immunotherapy research to an undisclosed third party in exchange for compensation — Biotechnica has declined to confirm the nature of the data involved.
Neither suspect has commented publicly. Biotechnica issued a brief statement confirming “swift internal action” and describing the incident as “fully contained,” but declined further comment, citing an ongoing internal review.
Neighbors in the couple's residential block described the arrest as sudden. “They kept to themselves, mostly,” said one resident who asked not to be named. “Never would've guessed.”
The couple's minor daughter was not present at the time of the arrest. Her current status is unknown.
Emergency medical responders were dispatched to Nakagawa Academy shortly after noon Thursday following reports of a student in medical distress during the lunch period. According to the campus bulletin, an automated alert triggered within seconds of the student's vitals crossing a critical threshold — responders arrived on-site in under four minutes.
The student, whose name was withheld per district policy, was stabilized before transport to a private care facility. Faculty confirmed this was not an isolated incident, noting at least two prior medical responses on campus this academic year involving the same student.
